Why "Class 5 Performance"?
When we founded Class 5 Performance, we wanted a name that reflected our roots and the journey that brought us here. The name "Class 5" is a homage to Class V munitions, a term that every AMMO troop knows by heart. As veterans and former Active Duty Munitions experts, we found it fitting to honor the legacy of our career field in the name of our company.
Our AMMO Journey
All three founders of Class 5 Performance were deeply immersed in the world of military munitions. We met while serving in the United States Air Force, working in the Munitions Systems career field, often referred to simply as "AMMO." This field is responsible for the storage, handling, and deployment of munitions, playing a crucial role in the operational readiness of our armed forces.
During our time in the Air Force, we were more than just colleagues; we became close friends. Our shared experiences, both challenging and rewarding, forged bonds that have lasted long beyond our military careers. We were fortunate to be part of a dynamic team that made significant contributions to the AMMO community.
Making Historic Changes
One of the most notable achievements during our careers was the transition from the Combat Ammunition System (CAS) to the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS). CAS had been the backbone of munitions management for decades, but it was becoming outdated and less effective in meeting the modern demands of combat operations.
Our team was at the forefront of sunsetting CAS and launching TICMS, a more integrated and efficient system. TICMS revolutionized how munitions were managed and deployed across theaters of operations. It provided better visibility, control, and coordination of munitions resources, ensuring that our forces were always combat-ready.
This transition was not just a technical upgrade; it was a paradigm shift in how we approached munitions management. It required innovative thinking, meticulous planning, and seamless execution. The success of TICMS was a testament to our team's expertise and dedication to advancing the capabilities of our career field.
